5th Annual Gabe Gallegos Memorial Tournament 2025

March 22, 2025 will be the date for the 5th Annual Gabe Gallegos Memorial Golf Tournament (and Helicopter Ball Drop) at Randolph Dell Urich Golf Course.

Gabe was well-loved as a coach, musician, athlete, son, brother, friend, and most of all, a father to his then 9-yr old son Gabriel. The intent of this tournament is two-fold; help keep Gabe's spirit and legacy alive, and to raise funds for the Gabe Gallegos Memorial Foundation.

The Gabe Gallegos Memorial Foundation was founded in 2021, and it partnered with the Sunnyside Foundation in 2023 as its fiscal sponsor. (501c3 #86-0656064) The foundation's mission is to provide Tucson's youth with resources to grow and develop their natural talents, specifically in sports. Unfortunately, many children do not have the means necessary to participate in team sports, and therefore never have the opportunity to manifest their untapped gifts to their full potential. Our goal is to help as many of these unfortunate youth as possible by covering costs when they are not able to, from equipment to club fees and more. Anyone who knew Gabe knows that nothing would make him more proud than to see this come to fruition.

100% of all proceeds from this tournament are donated through the Sunnyside Foundation. To date, the foundation has raised over $30,000 and has donated to several pop warner teams, provided uniforms to the Tucson Stars Baseball Club, equipment and funds to the Sonoran Science Academy, the Sunnyside High School boys and girls soccer teams, and Challenger Middle School, just to name a few.
